One-Pan Chocolate Oats

These one-pan chocolate oats are super easy to make! Serve them with fresh berries or berry syrup for a delightful twist!

Ingredients

  • 1 very ripe banana
  • 6 Medjool dates pitted
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened plant-based milk I used soy
  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 Tablespoons ground flaxseed
  • 2 T cacao powder
  • 2-4 Tablespoons dairy-free chocolate chips for sugar-free, use one-ingredient cacao chips
  • Sprinkle of flaked sea salt optional
  • Drizzle of runny tahini optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven or toaster oven to 350 degree.
  • Blend the dates with the water until smooth and creamy (using a cup blender works best). Place date paste in square baking dish (8×8) along with the ripe banana and mash together well with a fork. Pour in the milk and stir together well.
  • Add the oats, ground flaxseed, and cacao powder, and mix together well.
  • Add in the chocolate chips and stir one more time to incorporate.
  • Spread mixture evenly across the baking dish.
  • Top with a sprinkle of flaked sea salt and a drizzle of tahini.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until desired consistency.
